I'm a dreamer, I love to spend time thinking about the future, planning my next big idea. It's fun to think about the "what if's", but there's another side to "what if" that can paralyze us.

What if I fail?
What if they don't like my idea?
What if they don't buy from me?
What if they hang up on me?
What if I don't hit my quota?
What if I don't hit my goals?
What if they don't like my project plan?
What if
What if
What if

What I’ve noticed about myself is the negative "what if's" consume me. I've wasted a countless amount of time worrying about outcomes I have no immediate control over, it can be overwhelming and completely and utterly useless. Most of what I worry about truly never comes to fruition anyway. So why waste the brain cells, right? Now, the question is, how do you stop the "what if" game in your head? Below are 3 ways to stop the wasted thought process of "what if:"

1) Go out and do your "thing": Your thing is the one activity that relaxes you. It could be running, yoga, writing, cooking, or whatever activity makes you completely present in the moment and relaxes you.

2) Call for support: Hopefully you have a supportive person or group to help get you out of your "what if" rut. Having an objective 3rd party can prove to be quite effective.

3) Be proactive: Move on to another activity that will consume your mind and thoughts. Do nothing and you will continue to dwell on the "what if".

It's been said throughout history that thoughts are powerful; they might even shape our outcomes.

Be mindful of your thoughts, stay positive and good things will happen.

As Always,

Keep Growing.
