3 Productivity Apps and 1 Tip to Keep You Focused Working Remotely

Working remotely can be a challenge, whether you’re a sole proprietor or a team of 20. As the majority of the U.S. workforce is adjusting to working from home, here are three apps that will help with your productivity as well as a time management tip!

1. Trello (Free)
Trello is a project and task management app that allows you to see your projects in project boards. These boards are then shared with team members making it a breeze to collaborate with team members. “Trello’s boards, lists, and cards enable you to organize and prioritize your projects in fun, flexible, and rewarding way.”

2. Microsoft Teams (Free)
Another solution that I’m currently utilizing is Microsoft Teams. So many organizations are part of the Office 365 platform and like me hadn’t explored Teams. Teams has helped streamline communication with our remote team members, we share files, we video chat, and we can conduct meetings with 10 or 10,000 people.

3. Brain FM (5 Free Sessions)
It’s no secret that I have a hard time staying focused on deep work. Throw in kids running around, arguing over the TV or who’s turn it is to take the dog outside and it can make for a difficult productive work environment. Brain FM is a functional music app that through science has created sounds to help improve your focus. Pick from the type of work you are looking to accomplish and set a time limit and you are off and running.

One of the most difficult aspects of working from home is knowing when to turn it off. I’ve spoken with so many business leaders over the last few weeks and many have shared that they are working more now than ever before. This isn’t healthy, we need to create a regimented schedule and stick to it. It can be very easy to get sucked back into our work roles especially when our office is right down the hall.

Now, I’m not telling you how to live your life, these are just a few tools and a tip that have helped me stay sane, while staying productive!

As always, Keep Growing.
