With the rigorous schedule that many of us keep how does one stay sane? I'm a firm believer that if you aren't doing things for yourself first, then how in the world can you help others? Hence the concept of your "thing". I've had a saying for quite some time that everyone needs a "thing". This "thing" isn't for anyone but yourself, it’s a time to relax and reflect on life's struggles but more importantly your successes.

Many choose exercise to be their thing, it enables them to deal with the everyday stress of life. Others choose cooking as their "thing", they enjoy preparing and creating dishes for their loved ones to enjoy. Some find comfort in writing about their life and experiences and use paper as a reflection of their journey. Some find golf, tennis, racquetball, or cross-fit to be their "thing".

Whatever you choose, the point is to have an activity that helps ground you, it takes the pressure of everyday life off your shoulders and it relaxes you. I encourage you to find your "thing", not only will it help you deal with everyday stress but will make you feel better about yourself and in the end, help you to help others.

As Always,

Keep Growing.
