How would you define "being productive"? I know plenty of people that are always busy with their day-to-day grind but are they actually being productive? I define productivity as completing an activity that is driving forward a major goal or initiative.

For me, I try and keep things simple in my complex world. So, here are 3 productivity hacks that I use and will help you become more productive too:

1. Understand Your Priorities: To be productive you must understand and rank your priorities. To do this, first, you must define the steps that you need to complete to hit the goal you are trying to accomplish. Far too many of us live life reactionary, where those who produce at a high level have a defined plan to get them to their destination.

2. Schedule Tasks: There is an old saying that "what gets scheduled, gets done." These are wise words to live by, especially in today's environment. With cell phones, text messages and social media it can be quite noisy and distracting, but disciplining yourself to schedule your day with tasks and activities will help focus you on your overall target.

3. Concentrate on High Payoff Activities: Your time is valuable, and you should spend it on activities that are going to produce something of value once accomplished. Whether it's client interactions, prospecting activities or strategizing the next big idea, in the end, make sure it's going to bring you value.

You certainly don't have to be the smartest person in the room, just be the smartest with your time. I'm a firm believer that our most valuable asset is our time, and how we spend that time will determine our success.

Keep Growing!
